Credit Guide

Last updated: April 2026

This Credit Guide is provided to you as required under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (Cth) (NCCP Act). Please read it carefully before proceeding with any credit application.

1. About UNCAP.

UNCAP. is a credit assistance business that helps Australian small and medium businesses access unsecured business finance. We act as an intermediary between borrowers and lenders — we do not lend money directly.

Business name: UNCAP.
Email: admin@uncap.au
Phone: 1800 005 938
Website: uncap.com.au

2. Authorisation and Licensing

UNCAP. provides credit assistance for business purposes. Business credit is generally exempt from the licensing requirements of the NCCP Act, however we are committed to the standards expected of a responsible credit intermediary.

Where consumer credit is involved, UNCAP. operates as an authorised credit representative or holds its own Australian Credit Licence (ACL). Current authorisation details will be provided on request.

You can verify credit licence details at the ASIC Connect register: connectonline.asic.gov.au.

3. What We Do

UNCAP. provides credit assistance by:

  • Assessing your business borrowing needs
  • Matching your profile to suitable lenders from our panel
  • Submitting your application to one or more lenders
  • Liaising with lenders on your behalf during the approval process

We do not make the lending decision. All credit approvals, terms, and conditions are determined solely by the lender.

4. Our Lender Panel

We work with a panel of Australian business lenders. The specific lenders we work with may change over time. We will identify the lender(s) your application is submitted to before or at the time of submission.

We do not have an exclusive arrangement with any single lender. We aim to match you to the lender most suitable for your profile based on the information you provide.

5. Fees — What You Pay

UNCAP. does not charge you any fees. Our credit assistance service is provided to borrowers at no cost.

You will not be charged any upfront, application, or brokerage fees by UNCAP. The fees you pay (if any) are those charged directly by the lender under your loan agreement. Always review the lender's loan contract carefully before signing.

6. How We Are Paid — Commission Disclosure

UNCAP. receives remuneration from lenders when a loan is successfully settled. This is standard practice in commercial finance broking. Our remuneration typically includes:

  • Upfront commission: A percentage of the loan amount, paid by the lender at settlement (typically 3–6% of the funded amount)
  • Trail commission: An ongoing percentage paid by the lender over the life of the loan (typically 0.5–1% per annum of the outstanding balance)

These commissions are paid by lenders from their own margins and do not directly affect the interest rate or fees you are charged. However, you should be aware that we have a financial interest in a loan being settled.

We will disclose the estimated commission for your specific loan before you proceed, if requested.

7. Conflicts of Interest

As noted above, UNCAP. earns commission from lenders. This creates a potential conflict of interest in that we may be financially incentivised to recommend products from lenders who pay higher commissions.

We manage this conflict by:

  • Prioritising your borrowing needs when assessing lender suitability
  • Maintaining a panel of multiple lenders so you have genuine choice
  • Disclosing our commissions transparently
  • Not accepting volume-based bonuses or incentives that could skew our recommendations

8. Our Obligations to You

When providing credit assistance, we are obligated to:

  • Act in your best interests and with reasonable care and diligence
  • Provide you with this Credit Guide before providing credit assistance
  • Not suggest, assist, or arrange credit that is unsuitable for you
  • Make reasonable enquiries about your financial situation, requirements, and objectives
  • Keep your personal information confidential in accordance with our Privacy Policy

9. Your Responsibilities

To help us match you with a suitable lender, you should:

  • Provide accurate and complete information about your business and financial situation
  • Disclose any existing loans, debts, or obligations
  • Read your loan contract carefully before signing
  • Contact us or the lender if anything is unclear

10. Credit Assessment

Lenders will conduct their own credit assessment of your application. This may include a credit check with one or more credit reporting bodies (such as Equifax, Illion, or Experian). You will be notified if a credit check is required.

Not all applications will be approved. Approval is subject to the lender's own criteria.

11. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint about the credit assistance we have provided, please contact us first:
